About the opportunity
Bring your education expertise and organisational talent to a role where you’ll make a real difference for students and staff. As an Administration Officer within the Seafaring & Maritime Operations (SMO) team, you’ll play a key role in supporting Higher Education short courses and program administration. From enrolment through to certification, you’ll ensure every step of the student journey runs smoothly, delivering high-quality training outcomes and an exceptional experience.
This is a dynamic role requiring attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of Higher Education and VET frameworks to maintain compliance with regulatory standards. If you’re proactive, organised, and passionate about supporting learners, this is your opportunity to contribute to student success.
What you’ll do:
Coordinate and review Higher Education short course enrolments.
Assist with course administration tasks including processing enrolments, assessing eligibility, creating student files, and managing TAGS book coordination.
Support Higher Education examination processes and short course delivery.
Provide professional, timely assistance to students and staff, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Maintain electronic files and databases and prepare induction materials and learner resources.
What we’re looking for:
Experience in the education sector with strong administrative and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support students and collaborate with staff.
Proficiency in software packages and databases, including VET Student Management Systems.
Knowledge of Higher Education and VET requirements (or ability to learn quickly).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 4 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $91,488 comprising base salary within the range of $73,814 to $78,195 plus 17% superannuation.
