About the Opportunity
As our Senior Lead, Financial Reporting, you will be the University’s expert voice on statutory reporting, financial accounting integrity and compliance across a diverse and evolving organisation. You’ll lead the preparation of the University’s consolidated annual financial statements and ensure the accuracy, completeness and reliability of financial information used for external reporting.
You’ll also play a central role in strengthening financial controls and governance frameworks to deliver authoritative advice and assurance to senior leaders, supporting sound financial governance and decision making.
As a member of the Financial Services leadership team, you’ll provide guidance and support to others in the Financia Reporting team, specifically Graduate Accountant, Financial Accountant and Lead – Taxation and Insurance.

What’s Required
We are seeking a professional who enjoys balancing hands-on execution with strategic influence; someone comfortable diving deep into technical detail while also playing a key role in shaping the financial governance of a large, complex organisation.
You will hold a tertiary qualification in accounting with CA or CPA Membership, with at least 5 year’s proven experience in leading year‑end processes and the preparation of annual financial statements in large, complex organisations. You’ll also be confident in providing financial accounting, taxation and business management advice. With proven leadership capability, you will build and develop a high‑performing team while managing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment. Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills are essential, along with experience using enterprise financial management systems (ideally TechnologyOne), advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience in or knowledge of the university sector is highly regarded.

Appointments to this role will be at HEO Level 10 with a total remuneration package of up to $ 160,868 comprising base salary of $137,494 plus 17% superannuation.
