About the opportunity
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Biomedicine, in the Tasmanian School of Medicine. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the delivery and coordination of biomedical teaching across the Bachelor of Biomedicine and Bachelor of Medical Science & Doctor of Medicine programs. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to innovative, high-quality teaching, both online and in-person. In addition to teaching, the role supports the development of research and scholarship aligned with the School's strategic priorities, bringing bioscience expertise to the areas of brain science, mental health, genomics, preventative health, chronic disease management, or learning and teaching/medical education.
What you’ll do:
Undertake contemporary scholarly teaching in undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs.
Coordinate units and develop distinctive, strategically aligned unit content and assessment.
Demonstrate a scholarly approach to teaching and curriculum development.
Develop research and scholarship of national and increasingly of international standing.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links.
What we’re looking for:
A PhD or equivalent in a discipline relevant to biomedical science.
Proven capabilities in higher education learning and teaching.
Demonstrated ability (Level B) or proven capability (Level C) to undertake unit coordination roles and curriculum development.
A good (Level B) or strong record (Level C) in, and continuing commitment to, research of biomedical education or discipline specific research.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B or Academic Level C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $157,330 comprising base salary within the range of $114,766 to $157,330 plus 17% superannuation.
