The Opportunity
We are seeking to appoint a Recruitment, Engagement & Marketing Business Partner within the Students Services and Operations Division. This role sits within the Recruitment, Engagement & Marketing (REM) portfolio, which leads the University’s recruitment strategy, future student engagement and marketing activity in alignment with the University Strategic Plan.
As a trusted advisor working closely with Academic Units and Divisions, you will diagnose opportunities, influence decision-making, and connect stakeholders with expert REM teams to drive student attraction, engagement, and brand impact across Tasmania. The REM Business Partner builds strong, influential relationships with assigned stakeholder groups. You will engage deeply with stakeholder priorities, diagnose recruitment, engagement, and marketing challenges, and connect client needs with the right expertise across our REM specialist teams. This role ensures that initiatives are insight‑driven, strategically aligned, and deliver measurable impact for student attraction and institutional reputation.
Key Accountabilities:
Develop strong, influential relationships with stakeholders to anticipate needs, identify opportunities, and provide strategic recommendations.
Diagnose complex recruitment, engagement, and marketing challenges using data‑driven insights and market intelligence. Engage specialist REM teams to design and deliver tailored solutions that align with University priorities.
Lead market analysis and audience segmentation to inform recruitment and engagement strategies.
Identify, scope, and hold accountability for major campaigns supporting student recruitment and brand objectives, maintaining strategic oversight throughout delivery.
Ensure campaigns are integrated within annual and long‑term planning frameworks, monitoring performance and impact. Identify emerging trends to strengthen the University’s competitive position and reputation.
Support strategic projects and change initiatives as required by the Director, Marketing.
Your Application
To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate:
Qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related fields, or relevant experience in these areas or in student recruitment.
Expertise in market research, audience insights, and strategic campaign design.
Ability to translate data and insights into actionable plans that support recruitment and engagement outcomes.
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‑management capability, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively. Strategic thinking paired with practical understanding of campaign execution and performance monitoring.
High‑level written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital platforms and web editing.
Sound understanding of the tertiary education landscape, with a data‑driven approach to problem‑solving.
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,942, comprising a base salary within the range of $101,821 to $111,917 plus 17% superannuation.
