The Opportunity

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Therapeutics and Pharmacy Practice in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmacology which is part of the College of Health and Medicine, based in Launceston, as part of a larger state-wide team.  You will manage and develop teaching into the new Fast-track Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours program, which for the first time is now offered at our three campuses in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie. As a registered Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia, you will leverage your pharmacy practitioner experience and commit to continuous improvement of teaching quality and student experience. The role can accommodate flexible working arrangements and applicants that may be interested in a fractional appointment are encouraged to apply.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Make a strong and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
  • Provide high-quality contemporary online and face-to-face teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
  • You will coordinate units and commit to continual improvement of the quality of your teaching and the student experience.
  • Demonstrate a scholarly approach to teaching and curriculum development, aligning with the University’s quality framework and delivery standards.
  • Contribute to research in the field of therapeutics and pharmacy practice.
  • Increasingly provide academic leadership, particularly in fostering outstanding research and/or learning and teaching.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links inside the University and locally and nationally with the discipline, relevant interdisciplinary domains, profession, industry and/or wider community.

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate:

  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is desirable, however, exceptions may be made for individuals with extraordinary professional competence, clinical skills and experience.
  • Registered as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
  • Clinical pharmacy practice professional experience, in either a community or hospital setting.
  • Clinical expertise with currency in therapeutics with the ability to contribute to discipline research in the field of therapeutics and pharmacy practice.
  • Proven experience and demonstrated achievement in the delivery high quality University level learning and teaching in online, clinical and face-to-face environments A record of contributing effectively to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline, profession, industry (where relevant) and wider community.

Remuneration

Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $142,799 comprising base salary within the range of $105,131 to $122,050 plus 17% superannuation.
