 About the opportunity

Sciences and Engineering is looking for a supportive and detail oriented Senior Administration Officer.

In this role you will provide a broad range of high-quality administrative support and front-of-house reception to Academic Units across Sciences and Engineering.  This fast paced, high-volume environment has a strong focus on contributing efficiently and responsively to critical day-to-day operations.

Acting as the first point of reference for our Administrative Officers on more complex requests, you will be a team player with a supportive nature.  You will have strong organisational skills allowing efficient multi-tasking and prioritisation of varied work tasks, and taking initiative will be second nature to you.

What you’ll do:

  • Complete a broad range of administrative duties to assist and support the service delivery needs of the Academic Units.
  • Provide guidance to Administrative Officers, acting as a point of escalation, in response to a broad range of queries received from Academic Units.
  • Actively contribute to a people centric service experience by developing and maintaining strong people focused relationships with stakeholders, and ability to advise on policies, processes, and systems relevant to Academic Units.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures and effective use of university systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and projects while ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements, internal policy, and procedures.

­What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated administrative skills including experience with email, spreadsheet database, presentation software, and the internet as a resource.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence and proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment and demonstrated capacity to act as a point of escalation for less experienced team members.
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders with a positive can-do attitude.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to prioritise and complete tasks within defined deadlines.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $105,665 comprising base salary within the range of $80,869 to $90,312 plus 17% superannuation.
