Fellow of an Australian Specialist Medical College with deep knowledge of LGH/Tasmanian Health Service clinical networks (ideally currently employed within LGH/THS)
Proven track record in medical education and stakeholder engagement—designing/delivering education, mentoring, and building productive relationships to expand specialist training pathways.
Collaborate with academic staff at the Launceston Clinical School to facilitate education and training that supports healthcare delivery in regional Tasmania

About the opportunity
The Regional Training Hub works to strengthen specialist medical training pathways across the North and Northwest of Tasmania, helping doctors progress through postgraduate training while remaining in the region. The Hub supports junior doctors through education, mentoring and scholarships, assists supervisors with training and development, and works strategically to expand access to specialist training opportunities.
The Clinical Lead plays a key role in supporting and promoting Hub activities across Northern Tasmania. Using their knowledge of clinical networks at the Launceston General Hospital, the Clinical Lead will partner with the Project Officer to identify opportunities to grow specialist training pathways, enhance engagement with junior doctors and supervisors, and connect individuals with targeted mentoring and support.
This position contributes to building a sustainable regional specialist workforce by helping shape and deliver training initiatives that support doctors at every stage of their postgraduate journey.
What you’ll do:
Work with the Director, Regional Training Hub to coordinate activities across the North and North West.
Promote Regional Training Hub activities in the North, ensuring that these are aligned with Commonwealth objectives.
Support delivery of Hub activities.
Collaborate with training providers to address unmet local training needs.
Provide clinical advice and support to the Regional Training Hub’s Northern Project Officer.
Make a strong and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
What we’re looking for:
Completion of postgraduate training, such as a Fellowship of a Specialist Medical College.
Evidence of innovative and sustained contributions to medical education.
A demonstrated capacity to build and maintain effective and productive relationships at a state and national level with a range of stakeholders involved in medical education.
Experience and demonstrated achievement in University-level teaching and learning.
Be employed by the Launceston General Hospital/Tasmanian Health Service.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $184,076 pro-rata comprising base salary within the range of $138,536 to $157,330 pro-rata plus 17% superannuation.
