About the opportunity
The Facilities Services Officer will work within the Campus Services unit Facilities Management and directly support the efforts of the Waste and Cleaning Contract Manager. The Facilities Services Officer will support the day-to-day waste operations, Reuse Program, Recycling Walls, undertake venue hire and University events set up including portering/movement/transportation of furniture and equipment. The Facilities Service Officer will provide consistent support across waste services (three days per week) and portering/related duties (two days per week), ensuring continuity and coverage across all service areas.
What you’ll do:
Manage and respond to work requests, stakeholder enquiries, and waste education activities.
Support waste operations, including bin movement, recycling wall management, and data collection.
Carry out portering tasks, including movement, cataloguing and transportation of furniture and equipment.
Assist with event and venue setup, waste service coordination, and ensuring safe, secure site conditions.
Maintain Campus Services vehicles and storage areas, respond to after-hours emergencies, and perform other assigned duties.
What we’re looking for:
Relevant experience, or a mix of relevant experience and training.
Demonstrated high level organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical ability to carry out numerous manual handling tasks.
Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment.
Available to respond to afterhours emergencies.
Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 4 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $88,479 comprising base salary within the range of $71,387 to $75,623 plus 17% superannuation.
