About the opportunity

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Therapeutics and Pharmacy Practice in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmacology which is part of the Health Portfolio at the University of Tasmania. This role is supported by the Commonwealth government’s Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) program which aims to increase the number of health professionals working in rural, remote, and regional Australia. 

What you’ll do:

  • Provide and/or lead high-quality learning and teaching by developing, coordinating and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate units, and contributing to curriculum design and ongoing improvement in student experience.
  • Contribute to and/or initiate and lead learning and teaching innovation, including adopting effective practices and supporting improvements within units or teaching teams.
  • Contribute to research and scholarship in the field of pharmacy aligned with School and Health priorities, including publishing high quality outputs and participating in relevant research activities.
  • Support a collaborative academic environment, including working with colleagues, contributing to team activities, and, where appropriate, providing informal support or mentoring.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links inside the University and locally and nationally with the discipline, relevant interdisciplinary domains, profession, industry and/or wider community.­

What we’re looking for:

  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field or demonstrated exceptional professional competence and clinical expertise.
  • Clinical expertise with contemporary therapeutic and pharmacy practice knowledge. Qualifications and experience in advanced scope of practice are desirable.
  • Experience and demonstrated achievement in University-level learning and teaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve a common goal and display the ability to work in a manner that aligns with the University’s values.
  • A record of contributions to successful research higher degree supervision and completions (Academic Level C).

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B or Academic Level C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $184,076 comprising base salary within the range of $114,766 to $157,330 plus 17% superannuation.
