About the opportunity

A key focus of this position is the development and leadership of Postgraduate Digital Health curriculum, aimed at producing graduates to shape the future of healthcare, and to contribute to the largest health transformation in Tasmania. The ideal candidate will embrace contemporary online teaching approaches and technologies and be driven, innovative and results oriented. This position is an exciting conjoint opportunity to be part of the UTAS Health team and the Bluegum Health Transformation team (Department of Health), committed to transforming health outcomes through education and research, and through collaborating directly with Tasmania’s health sector leaders. You will assist in developing a positive culture that enables high levels of collaboration and productivity to support the vision of the University and the Department to deliver meaningful impacts for Tasmania. 

What you’ll do:

  • Make a strong and sustained contribution to the University and Department of Health in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities. 
  • Work across a complex specialised environment actively leading, enabling and developing innovating research programs.
  • Undertake high-quality research and evaluation for the Bluegum Health Transformation team.
  • Undertake scholarly postgraduate coursework teaching of an exemplary quality.
  • Increasingly provide academic leadership and specialist advice, particularly in fostering outstanding research and/or learning and teaching within UTAS and Department of Health.

What we’re looking for:

  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • A strong record in, and continuing commitment to, research that has achieved national and preferably international recognition.
  • A record of good contributions to successful research higher degree supervision and completions.
  • Experience and demonstrated achievement in University-level teaching and learning. 
  • A record of contributing effectively to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline, profession, industry (where relevant) and wider community.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $184,076 comprising base salary within the range of $138,536 to $157,330 plus 17% superannuation.
