About the opportunity

Based at one of our front-facing Sciences and Engineering staff contact/reception points, you will provide customer-focused administrative support and advice to students, staff, and external visitors. while primarily based in Greater Launceston also supports our Inveresk and Newnham campuses, with occasional travel to our beautiful Beauty Point site.

No two days are the same, you will provide a wide range of services from: maintaining tearoom consumables, assisting staff and students to navigate University systems and processes, connecting people to the right area. Services can also include meeting and event support, finance, purchasing, casual contract and timesheet support and facilities work request support.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain an understanding of current policies and procedures, and provide proactive, accurate, and solutions focused advice and enquiry management relevant to Sciences and Engineering.
  • Actively contribute to a superior service culture enhancing and identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
  • Stay connected by communicating throughout the day across multiple platforms and seeking advice from your fellow team members.
  • Provide support to internal communications and events as directed, including interacting with students, their supporters, and members of the public.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures through proficient use of the University’s systems (e.g., ServiceNow).

­What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated administrative skills including experience with a range of applications, including email, spreadsheet database and presentation software.
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment and demonstrated capacity to act independently within established guidelines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence and proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete tasks within defined deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal, resilience, communication and influencing skills with a positive can-do attitude that enhance an ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 4 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $91,488 comprising base salary within the range of $73,814 to $78,195 plus 17% superannuation.
