About the Opportunity
This is a unique leadership opportunity to shape the future of midwifery education and research at a national level. You will guide the Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery and lead the exciting re-introduction of this Diploma - a milestone that will strengthen Tasmania’s and Australia’s midwifery workforce for years to come. Working in close partnership with health services, your leadership will drive innovation, improve maternal health outcomes, and leave a lasting legacy. We are seeking a visionary leader ready to make a bold impact and thrive in a collaborative academic culture.
What’s Required
- A PhD in Midwifery or an equivalent field.
- A strong clinical background with a track record in industry engagement and professional experience relevant as a midwife.
- Demonstrated capacity to influence policy and or work closely with key stakeholder groups.
- Extensive experience and demonstrated achievement in university-level teaching and learning.
- A substantial record in, and continuing commitment to, research that has achieved international/national recognition and made innovative and sustained contributions to the field of Midwifery.
- Proven ability as an academic leader, with a record in team building and creating effective working relationships, and capacity to foster excellence in research and teaching.
- A demonstrated capacity to build and maintain effective and productive links locally, nationally and internationally.
- Significant experience in the accreditation of Midwifery pre-registration degree with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Qualifications and Licences
- Registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
- A PhD in midwifery or relevant health field
- Current Working with Vulnerable People registration (or to be obtained)
- Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence or manual vehicle licence
Salary
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level D or E, with a total remuneration package ranging from $194,236 to $244,987, inclusive of 17% superannuation.
