The University of Tasmania acknowledges the palawa/pakana and Gadigal/Wangal people as the traditional custodians of the land, sea and waters of the areas upon which we live and work. About the Opportunity

Following a strategic reorganisation of our divisional structure, we are excited to offer two Careers Partner opportunities within our newly established Careers Team in Organisational Development. Reporting to the Associate Director, Careers, these roles will play a key role in shaping workforce capability across the University.

Working as a strategic partner to leaders across a portfolio of Academic Units and Divisions, you'll influence critical talent decisions through workforce insight, market intelligence and recruitment expertise. With a curious mindset and deep understanding of talent markets, you'll anticipate workforce needs, uncover opportunities for innovation and help position the University as an employer of choice.

Operating within a tiered careers model, you'll lead recruitment strategy and delivery for complex, specialist and senior appointments. Partnering with hiring leaders, People and Wellbeing Business Partners and Careers Officers, you'll leverage data and evidence-based practices to address workforce challenges, identify talent opportunities and deliver timely, fair and defensible hiring outcomes.

Guided by the University's values, you'll build talent pipelines, enhance candidate experiences and champion diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the recruitment lifecycle. This is an opportunity to help build a values-led Careers function and shape a diverse, capable and future-focused workforce that enables the University to deliver its strategic aspirations.

What’s Required

We're seeking a recruitment professional who can build trusted relationships, influence senior stakeholders and confidently navigate complex hiring environments.

You'll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leaders on recruitment, selection and appointment decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary recruitment practices, including attraction strategies, structured assessment approaches and defensible selection processes.
  • Experience managing complex, specialist or senior-level recruitment activities in a large and/or complex organisation.
  • The ability to apply workforce planning insights and labour market knowledge to inform recruitment and talent strategies.
  • Experience using and interpreting psychometric or diagnostic assessments to support selection decisions.
  • A strong commitment to equity, inclusion and delivering positive experiences for candidates and hiring managers alike.
