About the opportunity

The Inclusive Practices Developer plays an important role in realising this mission by strengthening the University’s capacity to deliver inclusive and accessible learning and assessment experiences for all students.

Working within the Academic Capability team in the Learning and Teaching Performance portfolio the role leads the development of evidence-informed guidance and resources that enable staff to design learning and assessment experiences that meet the needs of a diverse student community. The role partners with academic units and the Accessibility team to build staff capability in implementing Universal Design for Learning and responding proactively to Learning Access Plans. The role advises Learning and Teaching leadership on systemic gaps in inclusive practice and contributes to the University's strategic approach to equitable learning design.

What you’ll do:

  • Advise Learning and Teaching leadership on systemic gaps and opportunities in implementation of Universal Design for curriculum, and learning and teaching activities.
  • Lead uplift of institutional capability to interpret Learning Access Plans and develop or adjust learning activities, resources and assessments.
  • Create evidence-informed guidance and frameworks to develop inclusive, accessible curriculum and learning and teaching activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of the capability uplift program, and report to Learning and Teaching leadership.
  • Develop practical training resources that build staff capability in Universal Design for Learning approaches across disciplines and delivery modes.

­What we’re looking for:

  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Expertise in designing inclusive learning and assessment solutions informed by Universal Design for Learning principles.
  • Demonstrated understanding of accessibility requirements, reasonable adjustments, inherent requirements, and assessment security considerations.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver high-quality professional learning guidance, resources and programs that build academic capability in learning and teaching.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to partner effectively and lead change across academic and professional teams.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 8 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $152,033 comprising base salary within the range of $114,282 to $129,943 plus 17% superannuation.
