About the opportunity

Working within the Arts and Society Operations and Administration team, the Administration Officer provides efficient, accurate and responsive frontline administrative support that enables consistent, high-quality service delivery across academic units and University operations. As a key member of the Operations and Administration team, the Administration Officer contributes to seamless service delivery across the academic units within the Arts and Society portfolio. This includes supporting a broad range of operational activities through the application of lean, reliable and customer-centred processes.  Success in this role requires the ability to build positive working relationships, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and engage confidently with stakeholders in person, online and by phone. Strong organisational skills, initiative, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrently are essential, alongside competence in utilising administrative systems, including the University’s service management platform (Help Hub). 

What you’ll do:

  • Provide responsive, customer-focused administrative support to academic and professional staff.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant policies and procedures, providing proactive, accurate, and solutions‑focused advice.
  • Contribute to a positive and high‑performing service culture by identifying opportunities for service improvement.
  • Assist with internal communications and events as directed, engaging professionally with staff, students, and the wider community.
  • Support consistent service delivery by contributing to the development and application of standard operating procedures.­

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence and the ability proactively to contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills, and strong personal resilience.
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment and demonstrated capacity to act independently.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • A high level of computer literacy and experience with database operations.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 4 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $91,488 comprising base salary within the range of $73,814 to $78,195 plus 17% superannuation.
