About the opportunity

The Financial Business Systems team within Financial Services is responsible for managing the University’s core financial systems, providing user support, training, system administration, reporting, development, and continuous improvement across all financial administrative functions. Within this team, the Systems Accountant manages these core systems by delivering user support and training, overseeing system administration, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves contributing to projects that enhance business processes, conducting technical analysis of financial system requirements, and implementing process changes, requiring a high level of flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to clearly communicate complex system concepts.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform analysis and planning for system enhancement projects.
  • Document, analyse, and review existing business processes, recommending improvements.
  • Provide expert technical advice on the maintenance and support of the University’s Finance system applications.
  • Provide technical advice regarding the integration of feeder systems into the University’s finance system, taking special responsibility for this area.
  • Coordinate regular system management tasks and resolve issues.

­What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of complex financial business systems in large organisations including associated manuals and documentation.
  • Proven experience in the integration / interfacing of financial business systems.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret client issues or requirements, investigate issues, document scenarios, test fixes and communicate with the full range of technical and non-technical staff to resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated high level written communication skills, including the ability to produce and maintain a range of documentation including training materials, self-help guides, responses to user enquiries, support procedures and incident advisories and reports.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,943 comprising base salary within the range of $101,821 to $111,917 plus 17% superannuation.
