About the opportunity
The Events Support Officer plays a key operational role in supporting the delivery of University of Tasmania events, including Open Days, School Leaver Expos, Graduations, and other student engagement activities. This role focuses on logistical coordination, storeroom and inventory management, and hands-on support during event setup, delivery, and pack-down.
What you’ll do:
Assist with the setup, pack-down, and on-site delivery of university events across Tasmania.
Maintain and organise event storerooms, including inventory tracking of equipment, signage, and merchandise.
Support the distribution and restocking of branded merchandise and promotional materials.
Assist with the coordination and logistics of merchandise pop-up shops and online store fulfilment.
Provide general administrative support for event planning and delivery.
What we’re looking for:
Ability to undertake manual handling and operate basic event equipment.
Experience supporting the planning and coordination of logistics for events, including scheduling, resource allocation, risk management and on-site delivery.
Competent in operating and troubleshooting basic AV equipment, familiarity with event management systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and service providers.
Experience in storeroom logistics, tracking inventory, and maintaining accurate records.
Current or ability to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People card.
Current driver’s licence.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 4 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $91,488 comprising base salary within the range of $73,814 to $78,195 plus 17% superannuation.
