About the opportunity
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Medical Sciences within the Tasmanian School of Medicine.
This position will focus on the delivery of high-quality medical education, including teaching foundational medical sciences across a variety of disciplines and using online and on-campus learning modalities. This position will support the supply of a skilled medical workforce to Tasmania.
What you’ll do:
Undertake high quality and scholarly undergraduate teaching across the medical sciences that are fundamental to the study of medicine
Mentor and support rural students both at an individual and peer group level to succeed in their rural medical training pathway.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links inside the University and locally and nationally.
Seek out and engage in opportunities to continuously improve academic learning and teaching skills.
Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
What we’re looking for:
A PhD or equivalent in a relevant medical sciences discipline or equivalent to a postgraduate qualification.
Experience in undergraduate University-level teaching and learning.
Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with staff, students and external organisations.
High-level organisational skills including experience adhering to safe operating procedures.
Demonstrated initiative coupled with the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $155,885 comprising base salary within the range of $114,766 to $133,235 plus 17% superannuation.
