About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated professional to provide expert advice, across a range of workplace relations policy and procedural matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and governance instruments. This role will contribute to enterprise bargaining negotiations and  oversee the implementation of the University’s staff agreement, providing strategic advice on complex case management, and contributing to professional development initiatives. You will represent the University at Fair Work Commission hearings, advocate for its interests, and coach the People and Wellbeing team to build their capability. Additionally, you will proactively build and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including the Business Partnering Network, Legal Services, the Safe and Fair Community Unit, external legal advisors, employee representatives, and Unions. What’s Required

As a resilient, detail orientated professional who excels under pressure, you will bring to the role:

  • Deep technical expertise in Workplace Relations and the relevant legislative framework with a broad knowledge base of contemporary HR practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate employment frameworks, policies and procedures into practical applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in liaising with staff at all levels, unions and other third parties, with demonstrated experience negotiating effective outcomes, consultation and facilitation of group discussions.
  • Proven ability to represent and advocate before various industrial tribunals and commissions
  • Agility and strong desire to develop, lead and implement a broad range of projects as required across the University.
  • Sound leadership and influencing skills including the ability to negotiate, motivate, influence and build relationships with others across the organisation.
  • High level of self-management, including the ability to work under pressure and achieve outcomes.

 What’s on Offer?

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 10 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $157,912 comprising base salary within the range of $132,973 to $134,968 plus 17% superannuation.
