Student Event and Engagement Coordinator (Regional, Remote and Online)

  • Develop and deliver student focused events, programs and activities to northwest regional and online students
  • Design and deliver activities to enhance the sense of belonging and connection for students
  • Ongoing, part-time (0.8 FTE) role based in Burnie

About the opportunity

We are seeking to appoint a Student Event and Engagement Coordinator (Regional, Remote and Online) to coordinate the design and delivery of online and on-campus student-led activities and programs.

What you’ll do:

  • Work collaboratively with staff throughout the University, Tasmania University Student Association (TUSA) staff and student clubs and societies members, to manage, develop and deliver fit for purpose experiences and events for students studying on the Cradle Coast Campuses and online.
  • Manage all aspects of event planning and delivery inclusive of compliance, budgetary and governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within an institutional wide team, to deliver events and engagement opportunities for students located in North West Tasmania and online.
  • Collate and analyse data from activities delivered to inform future events and for reporting purposes.
  • Participate in other Student Equity and Success projects and programs as required.

What we’re looking for:

  • Extensive experience in event management, including, but not limited to - stakeholder engagement, planning, communication, managing providers and risk management.
  • Experience in the design and delivery of online activities or programs that engage diverse groups and follow compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision or mentoring of junior staff or colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively and constructively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and build and maintain relationships across a large and complex organisation.
  • Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and deliver to tight timeframes.
  • Demonstrated ability to be adaptable and thrive in a continuously changing and highly collaborative environment.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $113,029 pro-rata comprising base salary within the range of $89,091 to $96,606 plus 17% superannuation.
