Salary description: $130,000 + 17% superannuation

The Opportunity

Leading the development and implementation of a new collaborative research strategy inspired by the work of the OECD and CSIRO in developing frameworks for achieving mission-orientated policy and innovation. Enabling the University to deliver world-leading and impactful research responsive to the needs of Tasmanian communities, industry and governments, this role will see you consult widely with senior leaders, industry policy makers and research founders. You will create a mission- oriented framework adaptable to the University context and mobilise key university units (e.g., Tasmanian Policy Exchange, Tasmanian Behavioural Lab) for societal problem-solving.

What’s Required

You will bring to the role extensive experience in developing and implementing a range of research development initiatives (e.g. international, philanthropic and/or mission-orientated), including developing and implementing funding strategies and plans. High level knowledge and understanding of both the Australian higher education sector and the international research environment and funding schemes will be key to your success. Ability to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders will be achieved through excellent communication abilities and high-level interpersonal skills.

This full-time, 12 month fixed-term opportunity is offered at a salary range of $130,000 and is based at our Hobart campus. In addition, you will receive 17% superannuation.
