Coordinator, Emergency Management & Security 

  • Full time ongoing position
  • Based in Hobart
  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual obligations of the University’s Services Security contractor and the University’s compliance with Australian Standard 3745 (Planning for Emergencies in Facilities)

Infrastructure Services and Development (ISD) is responsible for a range of strategic and operational functions relating to campus services and the University's built environment and assets. We manage sustainability initiatives relating to the University's built and natural environments and provide leadership and support for the University's organisational resilience, crisis and emergency management planning.

The Opportunity

As an experienced professional, in both managing security personnel and fulfilling organisational emergency management responsibilities, you will ensure that the University complies with its Australian Standard 3745 (Planning for Emergencies in Facilities) obligations and delivers a professional, customer focused security service.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage ISD’s emergency management plan obligations and ensure the University is compliant with Australian Standard 3745.
  • Manage the University systems and processes related to Security and Emergency Management.
  • Implement and manage the University Security Services Contract.
  • Provide training and education to the University community around emergency procedures and security.­

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

  • Knowledge and experience of contemporary security systems and processes
  • Knowledge and experience of contemporary emergency management planning, emergency management systems and processes
  • Experience of contract management in a complex organisation


Appointment to this role will be at HEO 8 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $139,269 comprising base salary within the range of $104,688 to $119,034 plus 17% superannuation.
