About the opportunity
The Manager, Learning and Academic Skills will be responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary team of staff and student leaders across campuses and online, who provide specialist advice to students from diverse backgrounds across learning and academic skill development. The incumbent is responsible for strategic development, professional direction and supervision of the work undertaken by the team. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring that the service delivery is informed by evidence and evaluation of the range of services and the needs of students; and is provided in a student-centric, consistent, high quality, and timely manner. These programs and services include but are not limited to learning and academic skill development consultations, webinars and workshops, online learning resources, Studiosity 24/7 learning support, and peer learning programs such as PASS.
What you’ll do:
Provide strategic and operational leadership of the Learning and Academic Skills service.
Build and maintain strategic collaborations with Divisional and Academic partners.
Work with other Student Equity and Success Managers in supporting student progress.
Provide advice and support to the Director, academic and professional staff, students and the wider University community.
Lead a focus area on student learning through the management and professional development of staff.

Proven experience in leading and managing a large, multi-disciplinary team.
Experience leading the development, delivery and evaluation of a diverse range of services and programs.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
Demonstrated ability to problem solve and thrive in a continuously changing and highly collaborative environment.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 8 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $152,033 comprising base salary within the range of $114,282 to $129,943 plus 17% superannuation.
