 About the opportunity

We are seeking to appoint a Team Leader Cyber Security to join our Information Technology Services (ITS) team, within the Division of Student Services and Operations. The Team Leader Cyber Security will support the delivery of a contemporary cyber security program that aligns with the University’s strategic objectives. The role will assist in identifying and managing cyber risks, providing support and awareness, managing compliance, cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and responding to events and incidents to ensure continuity of operations.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the implementation of effective cyber security and Information Security frameworks including strategy, policy, practice and methodologies.
  • Oversee cyber security reviews of third-party cloud services to manage risks to the University’s brand, operations and infrastructure.
  • Work collaboratively with other ICT Services teams and stakeholders across the University to effectively manage ICT Security compliance and ICT Security investigations.
  • Develop and maintain effective reporting and communication methods to University Governance groups, University members and ICT operational staff and provide expert advice on contemporary ICT security issues
  • Liaise with ICT security experts from external organisations and groups to maintain comprehensive and expert knowledge on ICT security issues and trends.

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated management experience within a highly dynamic digital environment setting and delivering strategic and operational goals to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Extensive knowledge of cyber security architecture and technology stacks, including business systems, system software, software development, hardware and networks.
  • Technical excellence in implementing effective Cyber Security and Information Security framework including strategy, policy, practice and methodologies in a large and diverse organisational environment.
  • Ability to assess developments in the Information Technology industry specifically as they relate to Information Security
  • Lead sensitive investigations where breaches of policy, state or federal laws have occurred while adhering to privacy requirements

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 8 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $ 152,033 comprising base salary within the range of $ 114,282 to $ 129,943 plus 17% superannuation.
