About the opportunity
As a Technical Officer, you will provide support to programs across the School as a member of the Technical team, with a primary focus on supporting workshop operations including timber and wood products, printmaking, painting, photography and other 2D and 3D making techniques using a variety of equipment, materials, machinery, tools and techniques.
What you’ll do:
Provide assistance to staff and students in and outside of class times / connect with educators and students to support unit lessons, student projects and exhibition displays on and off campus
Prepare and make ready for teaching materials and equipment for classes in teaching studios.
Good communication with colleagues and contribute to maintaining systems and processes for collaborating with professional staff.
Contribute to a safe working environment / collaborate with staff to maintain safe systems of work for school activities.
Maintaining equipment and working environment / ensuring that spaces and equipment is cared for and maintained.
What we’re looking for:
A minimum of Diploma or Certificate III level qualification in a relevant area with extensive work-related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Knowledge and experience in 2D image making, primarily but not limited to painting, printmaking and photography.
Knowledge and experience in 3D object design and making, including but not limited to hand made object making, CAD additive and subtractive form making processes,
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant workplace health and safety regulation and a history of behaviour that demonstrates a deep commitment to the promotion of a safe and healthy workplace.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $105,665 comprising base salary within the range of $80,869 to $90,312 plus 17% superannuation.
