About the Opportunity

As a key member of the Data Analytics and Strategy team within Student Services and Operations, the Associate Director, Strategy leads a small team to provide high-level strategic advice and consultancy. This role focuses on strategy design and implementation, building strategic capability, and offering consultancy services to academic units and divisions across the University of Tasmania.

Success in this position hinges on fostering effective and collaborative relationships with senior leaders across the University. This role demands a high level of skill in analysing complex information, developing clear insights, and delivering credible strategic advice. Responsibilities include proactive, market-informed analysis and advice, report preparation, data collation and interpretation, and presentation development.

What’s Required

  • Strong background in business/strategy analysis or management consulting, with skills in analytical and conceptual problem-solving.
  • Proven ability to foster a positive workplace and inspire a supportive team culture.
  • High-level skills in strategic thinking, planning, and design to achieve institutional objectives.
  • Excellent at liaising with stakeholders and senior managers, working flexibly and collaboratively to deliver project outcomes.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, including persuasive and qualitative reporting.
