Within the College of Health and Medicine, the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre is at the forefront of translational research of relevance to people with dementia and their carers, and provides a range of innovative educational programs on dementia. The Wicking Centre undertakes multidisciplinary research around three main themes – the care, cause and prevention of dementia. Educational programs are closely interlinked with the Centre’s research programs.
This position will revolve around the development and roll-out of the INSIGHT initiative, whereby participants of a longitudinal dementia prevention study will be invited to co-design an online, interactive dashboard to visualize biological and digital markers of dementia risk.
What you’ll do:
Planning, administering and delivering INSIGHT project, involving communication with co-design participants and hosting in-person workshops
Support the preparation and potential variation of documents, reports, ethics applications and other academic outputs.
Collect and analyse research data, including writing reports and other academic outputs.
Contribute to securing external funding for research activities.
Work effectively with relevant administrative and research team staff.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of a productive and effective network, extending from within the university to the broader community.
Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
What we’re looking for:
An advanced diploma level qualification and relevant subsequent work experience in a related area, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
A combination of education, training, and experience commensurate with the requirements of the position.
Developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including ability to exercise diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality.
Proven ability to provide a high level of research support services, including the ability to analyse and prepare academic outputs and other associated documentation.
Highly developed administration and organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and judgement on work methods and task sequence in order to meet deadlines.
A high level of computer literacy, including competence in Office 365 applications and other relevant tools.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Research Assistant Level 1 and will have a total remuneration package pro rata of $94,141 comprising base salary of $80,462 plus 17% superannuation.
