About the opportunity
We are seeking to appoint a Cyber Security Analyst to join our Information Technology Services (ITS) team, within the Division of Student Services and Operations. The Cyber Security Analyst role will support the delivery of a contemporary cyber security program that supports the strategic objectives of the institution. The role will assist in identifying and managing cyber risks, providing support and awareness, managing compliance, cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and responding to events and incidents to ensure continuity of operations.
What you’ll do:
Investigate and report on ICT security threats, incidents and conduct forensic analysis.
Conduct cyber security reviews of third party cloud services to manage the risk to the University’s brand and infrastructure.
Work collaboratively with other ICT Services teams and stakeholders across the University to effectively manage ICT Security compliance and ICT Security investigations.
Maintain effective reporting and communication methods to University Governance groups, University members and ICT operational staff and provide advice on contemporary ICT security issues.
Liaise with ICT security experts from external organisations and groups to ensure comprehensive and expert knowledge on ICT security issues and trends is maintained.
What we’re looking for:
Experience in reviewing system logs and events and investigation of anomalies.
Ability to assess developments in the Information Technology industry specifically as they relate to Information Security.
Able to conduct sensitive investigations where breaches of policy, state or federal laws have occurred while adhering to privacy requirements.
Demonstrated experience in the analysis of data from threat and vulnerability feeds.
Ability to develop and compile data for management reporting and metrics.
Knowledge of computer forensic analysis, data recovery, eDiscovery, and other IT investigative work.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $113,029 comprising base salary within the range of $89,091 to $96,606 plus 17% superannuation.
