About the opportunity

The Student Equity and Success team is looking for a Student Jobs and Employability Team Leader.

The Student Employability Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of employment professionals to deliver of a range of services and programs that support the employment journey and literacy of current students who are seeking work opportunities within and beyond the University.

As the new Student Jobs & Employability Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of programs and initiatives that have been identified to enhance students’ employability and understanding of the current employment market.

You will also be responsible for the leadership and day to day management of the Student Jobs team who coordinate best practice recruitment and onboarding process of students, for a wide range of paid and unpaid opportunities that will help them develop their skills and enhance their employability.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide leadership and supervision to a team of professional staff charged with delivering employability enrichment activities, promoting employment opportunities, and recruitment of our students.
  • Collaborate in the design and development, and lead delivery of employability focused programs and initiatives to support graduate employment outcomes for students.
  • Oversee effective systems administration of the Career Connect software platform to deliver employment services.
  • Provide direction and quality assurance to the Student Jobs team in relation to employment services and ensure practices adhere to best practice.
  • Liaise and build partnerships/relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the delivery of our students' graduate employability outcomes.
  • Lead the communication and promotion of activities across multiple channels.

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated capacity to provide day to day leadership and management of a highly operational team to achieve strategic outcomes.
  • Experience leading the development, delivery and evaluation of student employment or employability programs.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and provide advice to a range of different people including line manager, colleagues and student leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships across a large organisation and with external stakeholders.
  • Experience in enhancing graduate employability and employment opportunities for students.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a continuously changing and highly collaborative environment.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $126,637 comprising base salary within the range of $98,473 to $108,237 plus 17% superannuation.
