About the Opportunity
As part of a small and dedicated team, the role is responsible for offering expert and trusted advice on policy and procedural matters, overseeing the implementation of the University’s staff agreement. Providing well informed strategic advice to the Director Workplace Relations and colleagues across the People and Wellbeing function, this position will also contribute to professional development initiatives and capability development across the People and Wellbeing division.
What’s Required
No two days in this role are the same and to thrive in this position you will be a driven, resilient communicative and detail oriented team player with deep technical expertise in workplace relations. With your continuous improvement mindset and keen problem solving ability you will expertly navigate complex situations to achieve effective outcomes in support of the University’s mission.
Deep technical expertise in Workplace Relations and Industrial Relations legislation with a broad knowledge base of contemporary HR practices.
Demonstrated ability to translate employment frameworks, policies and procedures into practical applications.
Excellent interpersonal skills in liaising with staff at all levels, unions and other third parties, with demonstrated experience negotiating effective outcomes, consultation and facilitation of group discussions.
Proven ability to represent and advocate before various industrial tribunals and commissions
Agility and strong desire to develop, lead and implement a broad range of projects as required across the University.
Sound leadership and influencing skills including the ability to negotiate, motivate, influence and build relationships with others across the organisation.
High level of self-management, including the ability to work under pressure and achieve outcomes.
