Director, Hobart Clinical School

­­­­­­­­­­­­­Your New Role

As the Director, Hobart Clinical School you will work with the Director of the Medicine Program and the Medicine Leadership Team to align the operations of the Hobart Clinical School with the strategic objectives of the School, College, and University. You will support the development and maintenance of sustainable relationships across the College of Health and Medicine, with health service colleagues, with relevant professional organisations, and with the community. Ensuring that the Hobart Clinical School complies with Australian Medical Council accreditation standards, you will deliver high quality student experiences in cooperation with clinical schools on other campuses. Providing academic leadership that fosters high performance in teaching and research, whilst facilitating the professional development of other staff, you will direct and participate in scholarly undergraduate coursework teaching of an exemplary quality. You will represent the Medicine Program in a range of professional fora whilst supporting the School’s contribution to improving health outcomes in Tasmania through the excellent quality of medical graduates.

This position is based in Hobart and there is the opportunity to negotiate a combination of the position with a clinical appointment.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

As a registered Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia you will have demonstrated achievement in clinical practice, medical education, and/or research, as well as good standing in the medical and broader community. You will have effective influencing skills and relationship development capability across both internal and external stakeholder groups. With a record of successful academic and/or clinical leadership and relevant postgraduate qualifications, you will have an extensive background in team building and creating effective working relationships, driving and inspiring engagement, and taking responsibility for mentoring professional development and growth in others.
