The Opportunity

As Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing, you will require expertise in research and teaching in creative writing, with a capacity to strengthen our partnerships and community engagement across Tasmania and beyond. We seek an applicant with an excellent track record of quality publications in any genre of creative writing, complemented by highly effective communication skills.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the University’s achievement of its strategic objectives and operational responsibilities.
  • Teach and assess students in undergraduate units and courses, incorporating on-line/flexible delivery strategies.
  • Coordinate conduct appropriate design, implementation and evaluation of units.
  • Supervise research higher degree candidates, with a focus on creative writing.
  • Undertake high-quality research to meet and regularly exceed the University’s research performance expectations for the appointed academic level.

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

  • A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in fully online teaching methods and pedagogy.
  • Evidenced and outstanding record of teaching excellence, curriculum design and ability to develop teaching materials.
  • A strong record in strategic research that has achieved national recognition and made notable contributions to creative writing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership in research higher degree supervision and expertise of supervising creative writing candidates.

Remuneration

Appointment to this role at Academic Level B will have a total remuneration package of up to $133,842 comprising base salary within the range of $98,537 to $114,395 plus 17% superannuation.

Appointment to this role at Academic Level C will have a total remuneration package of up to $158,046 comprising base salary within the range of $118,946 to $135,082 plus 17% superannuation.
