The University of Tasmania is committed to further increasing the number of interstate students both travelling to Tasmania or digitally. The Division of Future Students plays a critical role in this process, implementing the University’s interstate recruitment strategy.

The Opportunity

The Head, Interstate Recruitment is responsible for leading a team of diverse staff to achieve interstate student recruitment performance targets, through the management of a broad range of activities. The successful incumbent will provide outstanding standards of services and partnerships with stakeholders across the University community.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Deliver interstate student recruitment targets.
  • Enable cross team collaboration and facilitate the implementation of Lean processes.
  • Work closely with colleges to assist with promoting and attracting students to the University.
  • Build resilient and collaborative teams.
  • Work within a highly interactive and transforming environment.

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate.

  • Ability to work flexibly across interstate, domestic and international recruitment.
  • Experience in customer service with focus on meeting targets.
  • Experience in building professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong experience of market management.
  • Experience managing remote teams.


Appointment to this role will be at HEO 9 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $137,901 comprising base salary within the range of $111,825 to $117,864 plus 17% superannuation.
