The School of Engineering lies within the College of Sciences and Engineering working with designers, scientists and technicians to conduct research and drive discovery. As a highly valued provider of applied and exploratory engineering research and development, the School of Engineering supports the sustainable yet dynamic nature of our state.

The Opportunity

The Lecturer in Structural Engineering is a key position with a balanced workload of research, teaching, engagement and the supervision of research higher degree students. This academic role will conduct research within the scope of the Structural Engineering of the School and Timber Engineering in the University.  

Key Accountabilities:

  • Undertake high-quality research of national and increasingly international standing.
  • Undertake scholarly undergraduate coursework teaching of a high quality.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the School’s engineering syllabi.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links inside the University and locally.

­Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

  • A PhD in Civil, Timber or Structural Engineering or equivalence in Timber engineering.
  • Experience in high quality university-level teaching and learning.
  • A record of contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive links.
  • Industry/professional experience relevant to the position.
  • Experience in unit and program development.
  • Engineers Australia Chartered Professional Engineering qualification or equivalent.

Remuneration

Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $133,842  comprising base salary within the range of $98,537 to $114,395 plus 17% superannuation.
