About the opportunity

Aligned to the University’s strategic objectives, the Schools Engagement team plays a critical role in the implementation of the University’s schools engagement approach. The team works across the University and with Academic Units to develop activities to increase aspiration for higher education and assist in increasing the number of domestic students attending the University of Tasmania.

As a Schools Engagement Facilitator, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating school group visits to University campuses. This includes developing activity programs in collaboration with academic units, overseeing all event logistics, and maintaining clear and timely communication with schools.

What you’ll do:

  • Support tours and visits to campus for prospective students and school groups ensuring a positive and informative experience.
  • Work with stakeholders within Student Services and Operations and the wider University to ensure coordinated support for engagement activities, aligning with strategic objectives.
  • Project manage approved initiatives utilising a safety-first approach to ensure that maximum benefits are achieved for all parties, and in a manner that enhances the reputation of the University amongst partner organisations and the wider community.
  • Work with colleagues in the Tasmania Engagement team to continuously improve and refine processes that support the efficient and effective delivery of engagement activities for maximum impact.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities for schools engagement by collecting and analysing feedback data and preparing reports for leadership and academic colleagues to support continuous improvement. 

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain successful relationships with key stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple projects and deliver outcomes on time and within budget and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a geographically dispersed team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently liaise with people of various skills, experience and background to achieve positive outcomes.
  • An understanding of the challenges facing the Tasmanian education sector and the need to increase access and participation across the educational spectrum.
  • Excellent digital literacy, including the ability to use contemporary computer-based administrative systems, records management and database applications, including those commonly used in schools.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $116,872 comprising base salary within the range of $92,120 to $99,891 pro rata plus 17% superannuation.
