About the opportunity

The University of Tasmania is looking for a Scholarships and Prizes Officer to join their fast-paced team.

Working as part of the Scholarships and Prizes Team within the Office of Marketing, you will support the Manager Scholarships and Prizes in the day-to-day operations and provide administrative support to a multi-million-dollar university scholarships and prizes program.  This program is committed to keeping students front and centre, removing financial barriers to students being able to access higher education, and recognising and rewarding academic achievement.

Our ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills with sharp attention to detail.  You will thrive on taking initiative to solve problems, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively as part of a team.  You will be a great communicator, and confident navigating information management systems and everyday software tools.

What you’ll do:

  • Undertake a range of administrative functions across the scholarships and prizes lifecycle.
  • Develop professional collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Work within identified processes to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Represent the Scholarships and Prize Team at events within Tasmania and nationally if required.

­What we’re looking for:

  • Completion of a relevant qualification or an equivalent combination of skills, training and experience.
  • Strong Organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to show initiative, solve problems and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with information management systems and software.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $105,665 comprising base salary within the range of $80,869 to $90,312 plus 17% superannuation.
