About the opportunity

We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work within the School of Psychological Sciences, UTAS Health, to contribute to the completion of projects funded by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) mission. These projects involve the development of an integrated model of care for adults with moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury and pre-injury mental health difficulties, and the implementation of recently developed clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of psychosocial and cognitive difficulties. The role will involve consulting with people with lived experience, in association with national and local consumer organisations, policy makers, and health professionals who support people with lived experience.

What you’ll do:

  • Engage extensively with project investigators across clinical sites.
  • Undertake high-quality research/scholarly activities independently, and in collaboration with national project investigators.
  • Lead the development of ethics applications and site research governance approvals with local health authorities.
  • Provide overall management of the project and undertake associated high-level administrative activities.
  • Develop spreadsheets and databases to keep accurate documentation and record of processes and decisions.­

What we’re looking for:

  • A PhD (or near completion) or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • A good record of, and continuing commitment to, research in the field of clinical research, psychology or neuropsychology, and/or translational research, that can be applied to TBI.
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of research projects involving individuals with lived experience of TBI or similar neurological condition.
  • Experience in conducting high quality scoping and systematic reviews and in rating research quality.
  • DESIRABLE: Provisional or full registration as a psychologist

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level A and will have a total remuneration package of up to $125,877 comprising base salary within the range of $83,198 to $107,587 plus 17% superannuation.
