About the opportunity

The University of Tasmania is looking for an experienced people person to join their Future Students team as a Relationship Manager.

This role focuses on driving growth in University of Tasmania enrolments by building strong partnerships across the education sector and coordinating targeted recruitment initiatives. It involves collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver strategic programs that encourage more regional school leavers and adult learners to pursue study at the University. A key part of the work is managing high‑level relationships with schools and other education partners to support smooth student transitions into university life.

The position also leads the planning and execution of school recruitment activities, ensuring application and enrolment targets are met. It plays a central role in major university events such as Open Day, information evenings, and careers expos, while maintaining effective working relationships with academic staff, administrative teams, partner organisations, and suppliers to support successful engagement across all activities.

The Relationship Manager will be required to attend out of hours activities, be able to spend periods of time travelling intrastate, and spend time at all University campuses and locations. The ability to take annual leave at certain times of the year may also be limited.

 What you’ll do:

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to implement strategic initiatives that aim to increase the proportion of regional Tasmanian school leavers and adult learners enrolling with the University of Tasmania.
  • Provide high level relationship management to key education sector stakeholders to support their students in transitioning to the University of Tasmania.
  • Plan and implement school recruitment plans to achieve application and enrolment targets.
  • Play a lead role in staffing key internal and external University events (including the University’s annual Open Day, information evenings, engagement activities, school careers expos, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders including academic staff, student administration staff, partner agencies and suppliers.

What we’re looking for:

  • Completion of a relevant qualification or an equivalent combination of skills, training and experience.
  • Strong organisation skills and ability to work with changing priorities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and diverse stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to show initiative, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other information management systems and software.
