About the opportunity
The Aquaculture Facilities Coordinator will support both research and teaching activities in aquaculture, with a particular focus on coordinating the delegation of facilities and ensuring alignment with organisational goals and strategies. The successful candidate will work closely with the IMAS Aquaculture team to deliver a high standard of aquaculture research facilities that are staffed adequately and well resourced.
What you’ll do:
Collaborate with key site personnel including the Aquaculture Facilities Manager and IMAS Operations Manager in developing and implementing innovative and best safe work-practices for WHS.
Act as the Aquaculture Facilities Manager's delegate by assisting with oversight and coordination.
Work closely with and manage priority lists within the IMAS Aquaculture team at Taroona.
Oversee, maintain and direct a booking system for all aquaculture systems on site.
Engage with the team to support project and teaching leads.
What we’re looking for:
Degree level qualification in aquaculture or a relevant field or at least seven years’ work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Demonstrated ability to work in and support a diverse team environment and establish positive working relationships.
Proficiency in putting together rosters and schedules across multiple projects.
Demonstrated ability to manage aquatic culture systems, and the ability to identify and rectify variances in established protocols.
Demonstrated ability to assist with research experiments, adhere to strict laboratory protocols, problem solve, provide solutions and take direction within a complex research environment.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,943 comprising base salary within the range of $101,821 to $111,917 plus 17% superannuation.
