Your New Role

Playing a critical role in the Strategic Communications team, the Associate Director Internal Communications offers a unique opportunity to develop and drive a whole-of-institution internal communications framework, enhancing the engagement and development of our people.  Maturing the University’s internal communications capacity and enhancing staff engagement, this role is instrumental in empowering our people in achieving the University’s Strategic Plan.

As a strategic and collaborative leader, you will provide high quality advice and flexible oversight to deliver communication and engagement strategies that facilitate a people-centric, values-driven culture. A key project of your new role will be to drive and innovate an Internal Communications approach that enhances staff understanding and connection to University’s strategy.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Your application will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with distinct and diverse cohorts. To embrace opportunity in an environment of constant change, your resilience and ability to identify, manage and respond to potential challenges and emerging issues will be critical.  Your people-centred approach will complement your expertise in creating and implementing communications and change management strategies.  

Relevant qualifications and significant work experience within a large and complex organisation and/or education/training in communications, media relations, marketing or public relations will be required. With an ability to conceptualise, translate and operationalise vision, your application will reflect your self-motivation to operate in a complex and ever-changing environment.

On offer is a full-time ongoing leadership opportunity based in either Launceston, Burnie or Hobart.  Appointment to this senior management role will attract a competitive remuneration package, 17% superannuation and relocation assistance as required.
