We are seeking to appoint a Linux Systems Administrator, with a focus on storage technologies. In this newly created role, you will benefit from being mentored by all team members with specialties including high-performance computing, storage, advanced networking and security. This position is a combination of in-depth Linux usage and an exciting broad spectrum of leading-edge hardware devices to deliver effective solutions to the Tasmanian research community. You will be trained to architect storage solutions within one of the broadest and most in-depth technology environments in Tasmania. You will interpret, design, develop, operate, and maintain innovative data storage solutions for UTAS researchers, collaborators and stakeholders.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Your ability to successfully engage with highly focused team of specialist will lead to successful outcomes in this role. Experience with Linux ecosystems and programming skills will be highly regarded.  You will bring to the role familiarity with open-source environments and objectives as well as understanding infrastructure-as-code. Ability to investigate, discover, introspect and troubleshoot unanticipated behaviour in complex digital systems. As an inquisitive and active learner, your demonstrated ability to acquire new skills will enable you to further progress and develop your knowledge in this career progression role.

On offer is a full-time opportunity, with a total remuneration package of up to $96,794 comprising base salary within the range of $74,080 to $82,730 plus 17% superannuation.
