The School of Accounting, Economics, and Finance, within the College of Business and Economics, offers a suite of accounting offerings at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level.


The Opportunity

The position is required to meet the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) requirements of a Scholarly Academic, providing leadership through high-quality research of national and international standing in climate accounting, and exemplary teaching practices in positioning the suite of accounting offerings as distinctive and place based.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Make a strong and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links in the field of climate accounting.
  • Undertake high-quality research in the field of climate accounting of national and increasingly of international standing, secure external competitive and other funding, publish research findings and successfully supervise research higher degree students to completion.
  • Provide academic leadership and facilitate team building through leading high-quality research and quality learning and teaching practices.
  • Undertake scholarly undergraduate and postgraduate coursework teaching of an exemplary quality in accounting using contemporary and innovative teaching techniques.­


Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

  • A PhD in the field of climate accounting or a similar relevant field.
  • A strong record of contributing effectively to building and maintaining effective and productive interdisciplinary links in the field of climate accounting research at a local and national level within the discipline, profession, industry and wider community.
  • A strong record in, and continuing commitment to, research in the field of climate accounting that has achieved national and international recognition, demonstrated by a strong record of high-quality publications, presentations at conferences and success in securing external competitive and other funding.
  • A record of good contributions to successful research higher degree supervision and completions.
  • Proven ability as a future academic leader, with experience in supervising, team building, mentoring and fostering strong and effective interdisciplinary working relationships.
  • Experience and demonstrated achievement in University-level teaching and learning in the field of accounting including evidence of the application of contemporary and innovative teaching practices.
  • Membership of an Accounting Professional body such as CAANZ or CPA Australia.



Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level C and will have a total remuneration package of up to $161,207 comprising base salary within the range of $121,325 to $137,784 plus 17% superannuation.
