The Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA) is a research institute part of the College of Sciences and Engineering, specialising in development, extension and education to support innovative and sustainable agriculture in Tasmania.

The Opportunity

TIA is seeking to appoint a Research Communications and Events Officer to manage the local and national communications of research initiatives and curation of events. 

This face-to-face position encompasses travel between home, the boardroom or paddock, forming the first impression of TIA for a wide range of audiences including teachers, students, academics, government representatives and farmers.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and manage a calendar of events.
  • Develop collateral and coordinate event requirements.
  • Develop communications and strategies to maximise reach and impact for TIA’s research and events.
  • Maintain and create content for TIA’s online presence and monthly newsletter.
  • Assist internal stakeholders with relevant inputs for TIA.
  • Assist with activities for potential students.

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Ability to coordinate the delivery of events with an understanding of events management.
  • Exemplary cultural awareness, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage with a diverse audience in traditional and digital media.
  • Highly developed organisational skills.

Remuneration

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $93,913 comprising base salary within the range of $79,093 to $85,765 plus 9.5% superannuation.
