The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Launceston) is a newly created position that reflects our strong commitment to be a place-based, regionally networked University. Reporting directly to the Provost, you will be a highly effective steward of the University’s strategy in a local context and an influential and collaborative academic leader. In line with the University’s Northern Transformation, this high-profile position will be instrumental in the development and implementation of our placed-based model of education and research in the Launceston region.
To be successful in this role, you will have an esteemed academic career nationally and internationally with proven academic leadership skills. You will have strong capacity to build effective relationships across a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders and to understand the needs of greater Launceston and Tasmania in a local, national and global context. You will have a strong sense of purpose and highly-tuned strategic and business acumen in the context of a diverse, multi-campus university. You will contribute strongly to the University in Launceston, the opportunities it offers, and its effective engagement with the community.

This is a full-time position for an initial period of five years based in Launceston.
